Wilderness Survival Camp

($490.00 CDN)

Time to practice your skills, share, and learn new ones in this seven day sojourn into the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies. The Wilderness Survival Camp is designed for Wilderness Survival students who want to refine techniques, share new ones, meet old friends, and experience the raw beauty of the land.

Each day will be filled with a variety of skill seminars, wilderness walks, technical displays (all are welcome to join in), and a community fire talk session. (Very informal, singing allowed if you must). Night navigation, solar navigation, improvised tools and much more will be covered.

Day three, four and five will offer a "Bush Run" for those wishing to survive only on what they carry into the bush. A list of authorized equipment (plus whatever your mini and maxi kits contain) will be provided beforehand, as will a standardised food ration for each day.

Bring a tent, camper, RV, hammock, tarp...whatever you wish...this is a week of learning and of sharing knowledge. Any items of interest are welcome, and a trade and swap blanket will be present!

As this is an activity for our Wilderness Survival and Wilderness First aid students, the minimum age of sixteen years (16) will not be in place. Each participant is welcome to bring a spouse and children, or a friend. This is about sharing our love for the outdoors.

If you have not yet attended one of our courses, a combination camp may be arranged for groups of five persons or more. This will include Wilderness Survival Techniques and four extra days of practice and enjoyment. Contact us to learn more..

The Wilderness Survival Camp will be offered at various times throughout the year. Dates are determined by interest, with one always being set for August.

Remote Areas Emergency Medicine and Survival will accept no responsibility or liability for any injuries or losses due to improper behaviour. This is a wilderness area, and various wildlife should not be approached!!
